arrived while two price lines moved at the same time.
The changelog says Runway Gen-4.5 is now available for video generation under
model ID gen4.5. It also says Runway pricing is now 80% of its previous
level, a 20% discount, while the Kling series is 95% of its previous level, a
5% discount. The notice says both updates take effect immediately.
The combination matters because model access and model economics often shape
the same shortlist. A new option can be interesting on capability, while a
relative price change can alter which option makes sense for a repeated
workload. Readers should therefore revisit both fit and spend instead of
considering the release and the discount as unrelated announcements.
The percentages need careful handling. The page does not provide absolute
prices, resolution or duration tiers, account-specific discounts, capacity,
or independent quality comparisons. A 20% reduction from one starting point
does not establish that Runway is cheaper for every project, and the notice
does not say that Gen-4.5 is better than Kling. Those are questions for current
